The Transitional Living Program (TLP) is a transitional living cooperative model designed to provide supportive housing and a safety net for young adults ages 18-21 who have experienced housing vulnerabilities. The program employs a positive youth development model so as to create strong emotional support for our young adults to transition into self-sufficiency.

Clients of the program are allowed to reside in the TLP house for up to 18 months and additionally may opt to receive 6 months of post residency case management as a means to support the transition smoothly. As participants of the program, these young people work closely with their case manager and all of the staff of the TLP, to form short and long term life goals used to create their individualized transition plans.

The program's primary focus includes:

  • Life skills and leadership training
  • Employment readiness assistance
  • Educational advancement and support
  • Financial literacy (money management, budgeting, consumer education, use of credit)
  • Interpersonal skill-building
  • Mental and physical health care
  • Individual and/or group counseling and family counseling
  • Community building
