Job Title: Parent Support Program Coordinator

 Job Description:  Individuals in this position are responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering services including case management, group facilitation, and individual support to parents/guardians of the Briarpatch Parent Support Program.

 Qualifications:  Requires a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, in human services or a related field from an accredited college or university and at least three (3) years of full-time experience working in human service or family support setting; or at least five (5) years of direct service and/or supervisory experience in a human service / family/youth development setting.

 Duties and Responsibilities: 

 Provides direct supervision and training of program staff, volunteers, and student interns as applicable including hiring, monitoring work performance, and completion of performance evaluations.

·        Directs and coordinates provision of case management, parent/caregiver groups and individual counseling, ensuring that consumers receive quality services in compliance with program guidelines and expectations.

·         Oversee referral and intake processes, and collaborate with agency and community programs as requested.

·         Shares relevant information/updates related to program goals/services with BYS and community members.

·         Provide direct services to Case Management (CM), Support Group and individual counseling to consumers and consult with professionals. Maintain and oversee records of contacts to include intake data, dates of service, services received, discharge status, client demographics, and other information required by the agency or by funding sources.

·         Represents the agency at community-based meetings and outreach opportunities relative to program as requested.

·         Good written and verbal skills, proficiency in Office Word, Excel and Outlook.

·         Prepares, or assists with preparation of, Dane County, United Way and other contracted reports/communication.

·         Understands/applies knowledge of: Trauma Informed Care, Protective Parenting Practices, LGBTQ+ Community, Harm Reduction, Youth Development, Individual Education Plans (IEP’s), Cultural Respect, Adolescent Development.

·         Engage in IEP meetings, court dates, team support, counseling and other support in the community with CM clients.

·         Performs other responsible and related duties as assigned

 Helpful Skills: Connections with Dane Co school districts, alternative programs and services, familiarity with juvenile court and area law enforcement, certification in Substance Abuse field, wide knowledge of area resources for youth/families.

Salary & Benefits: Starting Annual Salary is $40,000.  Benefits include: health, dental, life, and disability insurance; paid holidays; SEP and 403B plan; flex spending account; mileage reimbursement; and generous paid time off.

Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week with some evening and weekend hours required.

Transportation:  Reliable transportation is required.

Youth Employment Counselor - Part Time - LTE

The Briarpatch Youth Job Center (YJC) is seeking candidates for a part-time Youth Employment Counselor. This limited term position provides support for our Support for Success program, working with youth facing emotional and behavioral challenges to employment.

Qualifications:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

·         Requires a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of two (2) years full-time experience working with teens. Background in education, social work, or human services preferred.

·         Experience working with youth of color, youth from low-income families, and youth with emotional and behavioral disabilities.

·         Experience facilitating youth groups and training/education.

·         Develop and implement program curricula focusing on life, social, and job skills development.

·         Support clients in securing subsidized/unsubsidized employment opportunities.

·         Build and maintain positive and supportive relationships with clients, community partners, and employers.

·         Maintain required records for all client work in a timely manner.

·         Develop youth employment and career development opportunities in the private and non-profit sectors throughout Dane County.

·         Other job duties as assigned.

 

Hours:

16 hours per week with required evening hours beginning March 9, 2020 and ending December 31, 2020

Transportation:

Must have valid drivers license.

Compensation

Package:

Starting pay is $17.10 per hour     

This is a non-benefitted position.
