Briarpatch Youth Services has an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work with our Youth Peer Court and Municipal Court Services as a Program Specialist. Briarpatch is dynamic organization that provides youth development, outreach, counseling, and supervision services to over 2000 youth annually.

Job Title: Program Specialist


Qualifications:

  • BA in Human Service field or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years of paid experience working with at-risk youth ages 10-17
  • Demonstrated writing ability and computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually as well as on a team

Job Duties:

  • Provide support for Municipal & Youth Peer Court programs
  • Supervise group community service projects with court-ordered youth
  • Conduct client intake/assessment interviews
  • Develop job and volunteer opportunities in private and public sector
  • Facilitate Peer Court sessions
  • Maintain up to date case files on all assigned cases
  • Maintain contact with parents and social workers
  • Write timely, accurate work team reports
  • Provide ongoing program support duties as assigned

Work Hours:

Full-time, benefited position
Schedule is flexible with ability to work evenings and weekends

Compensation Package:

Beginning salary is $30,160 with attractive benefits including 403(b) plan; health, dental, life, and disability insurance; plus generous paid time off

Transportation:

Reliable, insured transportation and valid driver’s license are required
