Youth Job Center Coordinator

Description:

 

 

The Briarpatch Youth Job Center Coordinator is responsible for developing and overseeing all programming and services provided by the Briarpatch Youth Job Center. This includes Support For Success and all summer youth employment opportunities. 

Qualifications:

 

 

 

  • Requires a Bachelor Degree in Human Services or a related field from an accredited college or university with a minimum of (2) years of full-time experience in a human service or youth development setting. Excellent written, verbal and computer skills are required.
  • Knowledge of youth employment services, trauma-informed care and positive youth development practices required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Provides direct supervision of Youth Job Center staff, including hiring, termination and completion of employee performance evaluations.
  • Recruits, trains and provides program participants with assistance in securing unsubsidized/subsidized employment opportunities.
  • Develops and updates the Youth Job Center training curriculum and conducts training workshops both within and outside the agency.
  • Coordinates the collection of information/data necessary to make accurate and timely reports to funding and/or regulatory agencies and completes/submits reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that student interns and volunteers receive regular/ongoing feedback regarding their performance.
  • Ensures program compliance with client documentation/reporting standards and with agency policy/procedures.

Hours:

This is a 40 hour per week position with flexible office hours Monday-Friday. Based upon program and client needs, some evening and weekend hours are required.

Package:

Starting pay is $17.75 per hour.

Youth Case Manager – Americorps

Description:

 

This position provides counseling and case management to young adult clients (ages 18-21) of the Transitional Living Program (TLP).  Individuals in this position provide positive support and conflict resolution for TLP clients residing in the TLP House.

Qualifications:

 

  • Experience working with at-risk youth.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills. 
  • Spanish language skills a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Provides case management services to TLP clients as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains case files on assigned clients.  Documents client contacts in case files, and completes case-related documentation in accordance with TLP and agency standards.
  • Provides assistance and support to TLP staff as required.
  • Provides assistance, support, consultation, and training to TLP volunteers as needed.
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of the TLP and agency policies and procedures.
  • Provides an evening and weekend presence at the TLP house as scheduled.
  • Performs other reasonable and related duties as assigned.

Hours:

Flexible hours; some evenings required.  Agency is open 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday-Friday.
